Front view of Heidelberg Castle, Germany
Heidelberg Castle, along with the city, were first destroyed by
Tilly's troops in 1622. The castle was rebuilt by Karl-Ludwig. The
castle was destroyed a second and final time during the War of
Succession, in 1693.
