Beach Trip, September 20, 2005

We went to the beach two weeks ago. We spent a couple of days with Nancy's dad in Newport, then my parents rented a place in Lincoln City for the rest of the week. My sister and brother-in-law joined us for the last few days.

Last week, at their six month appointment, Owen was 20 lbs, 1 oz, and Andrew was 22 lbs, 4 oz. They are big boys! We think that Owen might be slowing down a bit in his growth, but Andrew is still shooting ahead.

Andrew has five teeth in now (two bottom teeth and three upper teeth). We think that he has started teething again--probably another top tooth, but it might be one of the lower ones. Owen also seems to be teething again--trying to bring in those top two. Both boys were fussy on Sunday, though they were doing better yesterday.

The second crib is in progress! It should be up tonight--then both boys will get a crib, instead of a crib and a playpen. It's been working out, but it is definitely harder to get the boys in and out of the playpen (more bending). I think mom and dad will appreciate it more than the kids.

Andrew and Owen's latest trick is to sit on their sides. We had dinner with Jeff, Kathy, Jill, Brian, and the kids. Our boys were watching Abby, who was spending time on her side--her cheescake pose, Jill called it. The boys have taken it up, so it must be their beefcake pose.

Both boys know how to say "hi" and "hiya". They say hi or hiya when they wake up in the morning (usually) or if they see someone new. Other than that, their main words are things like "aga", "agu", "aiga", etc.

The pictures this time were mostly stuff that had been emailed to me. I will put some more of our pictures up the next time I post--we have more pictures from the beach, including some of Nancy's dad and Sue.
