Tricks and development, July 9, 2005

The kids are learning new tricks. Andrew is now playing with a wooden rattle that Nancy bought for them. He will hold it firmly in one hand and chew on it. Andrew is also actively hitting the hanging things on the baby mobile that hangs down to floor level. He used to hit it sort of coincidentally, but now he actually looks and hits it at the same time.

Owen was hitting a set of plastic keys that my mom was holding for him yesterday. As well, Owen has figured out how to roll over onto his stomach.

Owen is working with his feet--he likes to grab his feet and roll over. Andrew likes to sit up--he can sit up briefly if you arrange him correctly and if he doesn't get distracted by looking off to the side.

We weighed both babies on the scale last week. It looks like Owen is around 16 lbs and Andrew is around 19 1/2.

I have sent off my entire book (except for chapter 5--I'm waiting for one more hack from a contributor) for technical review. It will be eight chapters in total. Hopefully we will move to production soon.
